Ode to Minnesota


I don't know many state flowers, but I think the lady slipper is probably about as bitchin' as they come.

haha. I forgot that was the Minnesota State Flower. I'd thought it was the water lily. Oops!

I agree. Lady slippers are gorgeous. I actually saw some yellow lady slippers in Torres del Paine.

Wow, I didn't know they came in yellow! Do they have pink ones here, too (this photo is from Minneapolis)?

Dave, I looked up photos of the wood violet online. Pretty, but can you hide things in it? I think not.

it may not hide things but it does represent that great state behind the cheddar curtain!

Haven't seen pink ones here, but there are some yellow ones in the woods by my folks' house in Northern Minnesota.
